Abstract
Primary Source Projects (PSPs) in statistics include historical perspectives on p-value, regression to the mean and data visualization. PSPs are not meant to be additional to current topics but can be an active learning learning activity to replace - to lesser or greater extent - lecture. All three open source projects will be discussion and at least one completed. Short excerpts from original publications are included with a combination of historical background and connection to modern textbook presentation as well as a mix of reflective and calculation exercises.
