F07: How much coding is appropriate in an introductory data science course?

Teaching coding in an introductory data science course presents several challenges – especially when students have varying backgrounds.  Initial discussions during this session will focus on: 

  1. How to handle students with have no background in coding?
  2. What is the best way to introduce coding?
  3. What is an appropriate level of coding for an introductory course?, etc.
