F03: Undergraduate Introductory Regression Instruction: Topic Coverage, Course Design, and Assessments

Krista Varanyak (University of Virginia)

Information

Much research has been done to improve the undergraduate introductory statistics course; however, there has been little work done to extend these practices to improve statistics courses at an intermediate or advanced level. This discussion will focus on the instruction of an undergraduate introductory regression course. Instructors of this type of course or related intermediate courses are encouraged to share their thoughts on topic coverage and course design. By beginning to engage in this discussion, instructors can eventually work together to create universally consistent upper-level statistics courses that demonstrate effective teaching practices.
