Should AI (like chatGPT) change the way instructors design homework assessments? As an example, if we assign a famous historic problem, students can find solutions easily using AI without searching themselves. Are there tasks we allow (or maybe encourage) students to do using AI (as traditionally using a calculator)? How can we harness the power of AI so that students can focus more on learning the course material, critical thinking skills, and creativity? I will ground the discussion on teaching introduction to probability and statistics.
