Sustainability and climate change are pressing global issues that we as educators can help students engage with. In this BoF, we’ll discuss how to integrate these topics into statistics and data science courses - not just as contexts for examples, but as opportunities for deeper conversation. What does it look like to go beyond the data? What concerns or challenges do we anticipate or face in doing so? Participants are invited to share activities, strategies, and questions as we consider how to help students connect statistical thinking with meaningful, real-world problems.
