With Cheryl Pammer (Senior Advisory Statistician, Minitab LLC)
With the shortage of trained data scientists and the need for problems to be solved by subject matter experts, data science is moving more and more into the hands of practitioners. It is almost certain that even introductory statistics students will have the opportunity to become actively involved in data science problems sometime during their future career. In addition to classical statistical methods, students need a strong background in data visualization to truly tell the story behind their data. We will look at visualization strategies that bring insights from data to life in a fun, practical way. We will pay special attention to visualizations appropriate for larger sample sizes as I showcase new graphical techniques available in Minitab.
