BoF 1-04: Teaching Statistics to Large Classes Using Limited Resources: How Can We Strive for Excellence?

Margaret MacDougall (University of Edinburgh)

Information

In teaching statistics to large classes, a lack of available curriculum space and suitably trained tutors can leave instructors feeling challenged to meet their own expectations for delivering a high-quality learning experience to their students. The expansion of online learning opportunities in response to the Covid-19 pandemic has opened doors of opportunity to expand the reach of our teaching, be more creative and do more with less. In this discussion, attendees will share resource-efficient ideas from their own teaching experiences or that they plan to put into practice in the near future. The focus should be on pathways to success.
