Information
As we ask our students to use AI responsibly, we must define for them what that means. This definition can vary by class and instructor, and even by assignment, making it challenging for even the best-intentioned student to understand exactly what is expected of them. AI usage scales provide a mechanism for instructors to clearly (a) describe different levels of AI use in the context of a specific course and (b) relay to students what level is allowed on a particular assignment/activity. In this session we will share and discuss existing AI usage scales (developed by ourselves or others) and our experiences utilizing them in our classes.
