Mohammed Quazi (West Virginia University)

Information

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming every field, yet its foundations remain deeply rooted in statistical thinking. In this birds of a feather discussion we will explore as a group how statistical literacy empowers students to understand, evaluate, and responsibly apply AI tools. We will seed the discussion by having educators share common student misconceptions and techniques to incite statistical thinking among students in the age of AI. The discussion will provide guidance for instructors to help students to develop confidence in data analysis, statistical thinking, and ethical decision-making.
