Abstract
Aligned with the GAISE College report's emphasis on technology for conceptual understanding and data analysis on real datasets, this workshop introduces the “Art of Stat” mobile app (iOS/Android). Designed for smartphones and tablets, the app offers an accessible, code-free, none-AI based alternative to traditional software or chatbots used in Intro Stats. It features a comprehensive suite of modules including Exploratory Data Analysis, Probability Distributions, or Inference with linear and logistic regression. I will demonstrate how to integrate the app into lectures, homework and exams without the need for a computer lab, using its intuitive interface to visualize concepts, run simulations (e.g., CLT, bootstrap), and analyze real data using built-in datasets or user-uploaded CSVs. Participants will be able to download the app for free and leave with ideas and strategies to leverage technology that work off-line and across the introductory statistics and data science curriculum.
