The College Mathematics Instructor Development Source (CoMInDS) project is creating resources for teaching-focused professional development of novice instructors (e.g., graduate students). To date, these materials have used algebra, geometry, and calculus teaching examples, with few statistics-specific examples. In this session, we focus on discussion of the needs for preparing graduate students to teach statistics. Topics include: statistics teaching done by graduate students, preparation available to graduate students for that teaching (e.g., workshops, seminars, courses), and course-coordination opportunities and materials that are related to graduate students entering the world of college statistics instruction (e.g., weekly meetings, course templates).
