Chance News is a newsletter that deals with current issues in the news that use probability or statistical concepts.  From September 1992 to January 2005 this newsletter was prepared by an editor and a small number of  regular contributers.  As of Åpril 2005 Chance news will be a collaborative effort of  its readers in the spirit ofthe Wikimedia projects .  The  Wikimedia software makes it easy for a reader to add a new chance item,  or to modify an existing chance news items (hopefully improving it).  The Wikmedia Foundation has used this software to successfully develop a number of projects including a free Encyclopidia, a  newpsaper, and a series of books.  All these are made freely available under the [http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html GNU Free Documentation License] as will also be Chance News.
