To add a new item, go back to the "Main Page" and choose "Current Chance News".  This will bring up a page with the names of the articles already in the current chance news and a series of "items" for additional contributions. Choose "edit" from the top of the page. If "Item x" is the next available item, replace item x by the name of your contribution.  This can be the name of your news article or a name that you choose. Next choose "Show Preview" from the bottom of the page and see if your name is o.k. If so choose "Save page" from the bottom of the page and you will have added your title to the table of contents for Current Chance News.
The basic unit of any Wiki is the page. To make additions or changes to a page choose "edit" from the top of the page and make the desired additions or changes. Then choose "Show preview" from the bottom of the page. You will see two boxes. The top box will show what the page will look like with your additions or changes and, the bottom box has the source where you can make additional changes if necessary. In the Summary box at the bottom of the edit page indicate the type of changes you made or its name if you added an article. When satisfied that your additions or changes are o.k. choose "Save page".

Then click on your title and a new page for your article will come up. Choose "edit" from the top of this page and put in your comments about the article. Then again choose "Show Preview" and if it is o.k. Choose "Save Page" and you will have contributed an article to the Current Chance News. You can find additional help for editing your new page from the Help on the sidebar.
The "history" at the top of a page has links to all versions of the page with its summary to help identify it. This makes it possible to revert to an earlier version of the page if someone adds nonsense.

To change an existing Chance News item, select the article from the table of contents and then choose "edit" from the top of the article.  Then make your changes, check them with "Show Preview" and if they are o.k. "Save Page". But a brief indication of the change you made under the Summary bar at the bottom of the page.
To add a new article to Current Chance News, choose a name for your article.  This can be the name used by the news media or a name chosen by you. Then from the Main Page choose "Current Chance News". Using "edit" add the the name for your article to the list of the previous names using the same format as the previous names. Note that we do not put a period at the end of the name.  Then check it with "Show Previous" and when it is o.k. choose "Save Page".

Whenever changes are made in an article the previous page is saved on the "History" page at the top of the article's page. So if someone changes a page in a way that someone feels does not improve the original article they can always switch back to the original page. We would not expect this to happen very often.
Now click on the name of your article and a blank page will come up. Using edit, add your comments to the page.  Use "Show preview" to check your article. Put the name of the article in the Summary box. When you are satisfied with it choose "Save page".

Finally, at the top of each page you will see a "discussion page". You can use this to ask questions about the article. For general questions about the ChanceWiki use the "discussion page" at the top of the Main Page.
If you find a chance article and don't want to write about it you can mention this in the Main Page "discussion" and perhaps someone else will write about it.

The "history" at the top of a page has links to all versions of the page with its summary to help identify it. This makes it possible to revert to an earlier version of the page if someone adds nonsense.

Now click on the name of your article and a blank page will come up. Using edit, add your comments to the page. Use "Show preview" to check your article. Put the name of the article in the Summary box. When you are satisfied with it choose "Save page".

If you find a chance article and don't want to write about it you can mention this in the Main Page "discussion" and perhaps someone else will write about it.
