[CAUSE] Workshop on teaching with simulation-based methods in Mesa, AZ in March

A workshop on "Teaching the Statistical Investigation Process with Simulation- and Randomization-Based Inference" will be held at Mesa Community College on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7, 2015. The goals of this workshop are to help participants to revise their introductory statistics course in two ways: 1. Using randomization-based methods, as opposed to methods based on the normal distribution, to introduce concepts of statistical inference, and 2. Emphasizing the overarching process of conducting statistical investigations, from formulating a question and collecting data through exploring data and drawing inferences to communicating results, throughout the course. Workshop presenters will be Beth Chance, Allan Rossman, Soma Roy, Nicola Justice, and Anelise Sabbag. Supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation led by Nathan Tintle, this workshop is free but does require advance registration.
