The Statistics Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking a full-time, academic year, tenure-track position, with appointment beginning September 12, 2022. Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; higher ranks will be considered. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate statistics classes to non-statistics majors as well as teaching introductory and upper-level statistics and data science classes for statistics majors and minors. The Department of Statistics, at the Pennsylvania State University, invites applications at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor and Teaching Professor depending on candidates’ qualifications. Applicants must have a master’s or terminal degree (Ph.D.) in statistics, data science, or a closely related field by appointment start date; at a minimum a master’s degree is required. The courses for which this position would be responsible may range in level from introductory undergraduate to upper-level undergraduate statistics and data science courses. There is also the possibility that the qualified candidate would be expected to teach graduate-level statistics and data science service courses for non-statistics students. Examples of courses the faculty member may be expected to teach include a capstone course for statistics majors and a course on introductory data science and computing. If desired, the opportunity to occasionally teach in an online setting or to help design/redesign courses that benefit our majors is also a possibility.
