Registration is now open for the U.S. Conference on Teaching Statistics (USCOTS).  This conference will be held virtually on June 28 - July 1, 2021, with pre-conference workshops starting on June 24.  The conference theme is “Expanding Opportunities.”  You can register here and peruse the program here

Keynote presentations will be given by Rebecca Nugent (Carnegie Mellon), Catherine D’Ignazio and Lauren Klein (MIT and Emory, respectively, authors of Data Feminism), and Alana Unfried (CSU – Monterey Bay).  A keynote panel discussion on “Expanding Horizons and Fostering Diversity” will feature Felicia Simpson (Winston-Salem State University), Jaqueline Hughes-Oliver (North Carolina State University), Jamylle Carter (Diablo Valley College), Prince Afriyie (University of Virginia), and Samuel Echevarria-Cruz (Austin Community College).

In addition to thought-provoking keynote presentations, the conference program also includes:

·       opening and closing sessions with lively five-minute presentations,

·       interactive breakout sessions,

·       posters-and-beyond sessions,

·       birds-of-a-feather discussions,

·       speed mentoring session,

·       pre-conference workshops,

·       exhibitor technology demonstrations,

·       an awards ceremony featuring the presentation of the George Cobb Lifetime Achievement Award in Statistics Education.

The conference registration fee is only $25, which can be reduced to:

·       $15 for those affiliated with a CAUSE member institution;

·       free for those who create a short video for the SPARKS Challenge (here);

·       free for those for whom any fee would be a burden.

You can find more information here and a musical invitation to participate here.  There’s still time to submit a proposal to present in a “posters and beyond” session (here; deadline of April 22) or lead a birds-of-a-feather discussion (here; deadline May 31).

Please help to spread the word, using hashtag #USCOTS21 on social media.  Here is the link to the main USCOTS webpage: www.causeweb.org/cause/uscots/uscots21.
