Title: Don’t Just Play in the Backyard: Drive Data Impact by Wearing Many Hats
Presented by: Kelly McConville, Director, Dominguez Center for Data Science, Bucknell University
Abstract: John Tukey famously said, “The best thing about being a statistician is that you get to play in everyone’s backyard.” Playing is a great start, but real impact happens when you help improve those backyards. In this talk, we will explore the essential roles a data scientist should embrace to ensure their work drives tangible change. From math nerd and coder to applied statistician and trainer, wearing these many hats ensures you become an indispensable partner in team science.
