      StatsPortal is a powerful and effective teaching and learning tool for The Basic Practice of Statistics, Fourth Edition. Hear how StatsPortal is positively impacting students' statistics learning experiences. We will have a brief overview of W.H. Freeman's StatsPortal benefits and functionality then hear from instructors about the great results they have witnessed in their classrooms.

    • Workshop Statistics: "Facilitating a 'Workshop' Environment for Introductory Statistics" with Allan Rossman and Beth Chance

    • Fathom2: "Sensors in a Stats Class" with Bill Finzer and Robin Lock

      Fathom's lead developer Bill Finzer will give some examples of statistic modeling that come from hardware sensors such as thermometers, microphones, and photogates plugged directly into Fathom. He'll try to figure out some way to work with your lunch while he's at it.

    • WH Freeman: "AP Statistics 2007 Reading roundtable" with Brad Hartlaub and Daren Starnes

      Through a balanced approach of algebraic, numerical, graphical, and geometric representations, provide the maximum potential for students to grasp important concepts and problem solving processes in different ways. This session explores the connections and interactions between these various representations with classroom-ready activities using the newest technology from Texas Instruments: TI-Nspire.

    • Teaching Statistics Using MyStatLab (Pearson Education) with Gwen Terwilliger; room 302 Pfahl Hall

      Join Gwen Terwilliger as she shares her experiences teaching statistics using MyStatLab. This workshop will provide instructors with an excellent opportunity to exchange teaching ideas and learn more about incorporating technology in statistics courses. Explore how technology offers more efficient ways to assign and automatically grade homework, and test and assess students' strengths and weaknesses.
