Description of Research
The research of this group has focused on producing qualitative descriptions of levels of statistical thinking. They have constructed frameworks to model the statistical thinking of elementary and middle grades students. These frameworks are grounded in a neo-Pigetian cognitive model. A primary purpose of the frameworks is to inform curriculum development and instruction in data analysis.
